SquareOne's hiring policy follows an invitations-based system.
Our goal is to select people based on long-term observed behavior.
Staff may nominate players whenever they believe someone has consistently demonstrated the qualities we're looking for.
Every staff member is encouraged to maintain, either mentally or in writing, a small list of players they've noticed over time.
When they believe a player would be a good fit, they may bring that player to the team's attention along with the observations that led them to that conclusion.
All players have potential to be eligible for nomination.
Staff are allowed to nominate friends, faction members/leaders, or people they otherwise associate with.
When such a relationship exists, another staff member without that relationship should independently corroborate the nomination before an invitation is issued.
The relationship does not exclude either staff member from supporting the nomination.
Staff may support a nomination without providing additional observations. Silence is neither support nor opposition.
Once a nomination has enough support to proceed, the discussion remains open for a reasonable period before issuing the invitation, giving other staff an opportunity to raise concerns.
Significant concerns should be discussed and resolved before proceeding.
The staff member who made the nomination should normally deliver the invitation:
"I recommended you for staff, we discussed it as a team, and we'd like to invite you to become a Guardian."
An invitation is only an invitation.
Players are free to accept, decline, or take time to consider it.
There is no expectation of an immediate response.
